About Castle Heights

The Castle Heights neighborhood of L.A.’s Westside was established in 1922. Many of its family homes are dated between 1920 and 1940; and the architectural style is from the Spanish Revival era. Other homes and multi-family dwellings date from the early 60’s when the last tract of houses was completed.

This community includes about 900 single-family homes as well as condominiums, apartments, and some commercial property. Most of the multi-family housing is situated around the southern half of Castle Heights and the commercial buildings are along National Boulevard. The neighborhood borders run to Cheviot Hills, Beverlywood, and the Santa Monica Freeway. Historically this area has not been as affluent as close neighborhoods like Cheviot Hills and Beverlywood. But it’s also a short drive to Fox Studios and Sony Studios where many residents work.

Castle Heights is still considered an upscale community with its million dollar luxury estates. Many of its stylish homes feature the latest in renovations including granite countertops, designer kitchen appliances, and hardwood floors. Bedrooms are spacious and homeowners love the master bedrooms were they can retreat into relaxation. Many lots have sparkling pools and built-in barbecues; perfect for the outdoor entertainer. And the neighborhood landscapes are well-maintained. There is outdoor recreation nearby at the Irving Schachter Park and Woodbine Park. Schools in this area include Castle Heights Elementary School and Hamilton High School.

The urban Westside of Los Angeles is made up of 101.28 miles and includes Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Santa Monica, and Culver City. Los Angeles is the most populous city in California and is the second largest city in the nation. This area has a subtropical-Mediterranean climate with only about 35 days of precipitation each year. L.A. is known as the City of Angels and encompasses a richly diverse economy in fashion, culture, media, education, medicine, sports, and research.
